Conversations about ‘race’ can be complicated by feelings and misunderstandings about identity. The complications can be experienced as embarrassing, difficult or even threatening to positions we hold dear. This space is offered for counsellors to come together to think about race, its impact on them and how this could affect the counselling relationship. This is a chance to hear about modern race discussions and to think about how this impacts on counselling so that we can be less reactive and more responsive to these conversations as they arise.
